A Vote Before Memorial Day

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said in an interview on Friday that a vote on the constitutional option is “almost inevitable" before Memorial Day. In the same interview, Frist said the following about the ongoing debate over that option:

There's been an attempt to pigeonhole the debate into being some sort of extremist --- using their words, "radical Republican" or "evangelical" --- debate. It's smart ...in that it takes the attention off the fundamental principle of an up or down vote. It is wrong because that is not what's driving it.

What's driving the debate, of course, is a desire to see traditional principles of good government prevail over an unprecedented attempt to deny up or down votes for judicial nominees who clearly have majority support.

ConfirmThem.com is a collaborative blog hosted by RedState and dedicated to confirmation of judicial nominees who will uphold the original intended meaning of the Constitution, using judicial restraint. Until 2009, this blog provided news and analysis regarding judicial confirmation battles in the U.S. Senate, and gave every American the opportunity to be heard in Washington.
