Best Wishes to Bob Novak

As many of you probably know, Bob Novak retired from journalism this week. His medical condition is dire. I think it's very safe to say that everyone at confirmthem (including commenters, bloggers, the owners, the webmaster, and the janitor) all wish Mr. Novak well, and thank him for his excellent reporting for many decades. I certainly do.

On a more personal note, my Dad happens to know Mr. Novak pretty well. The Novaks kindly lent out their beach house to us in Rehoboth, Delaware several times, when I was but a wee lad. Lots of fun.

Anyway, here's to the so-called "Prince of Darkness", who has really been anything but. His position in journalism is a vacancy that will not be filled any time soon.

My prayers are with him and his family. He's a tough cookie, but he looked out after younger journalists. And his service to the American public, and to the conservative cause, has been tremendous.

I remember him from way back on the old McLaughlin Group. All the best to him & his family, thankfully no one was seriously hurt in his auto mishap.

STEVENS, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which SCALIA, J., joined.
