Biden Lied... and Erred Politically, Too

At the Examiner today (http://www.dcexaminer.com/opinion/columns/QuinHillyer/Bidens_injudicious...), I rip Joe Biden's discourse on judges during last week's debate -- noting that his remarks were politically stupid twice over, AND that he flat-out lied.

Nice article, Quin, and I'm surprised I don't recall seeing anyone mention Biden bragging about the Bork hearings during the debate.

Unfortunately, the economy is so bad right now, I don't think talking about judges can help McCain much, tho it certainly couldn't hurt.

Hate to be a pessimist, but every poll & map I've seen looks awful, and they're getting worse too, the more negative he & Palin get. Lot of truth in what they're saying, but people want solutions at this point, with the stock market nosediving.

Have to agree with Glenn Beck--McCain should've fought anything other than the most strictly supervised barebones bailout plan.

Biden vs. Bork by cubsfan

When I heard Biden take credit for leading the fight against Bork, I remembered a Jeffrey Rosen op-ed from August touting Biden's fair and non-partisan treatment of Bork, and what a raw deal Biden was receiving for the criticism of his chairmanship of those hearings.

That just confirmed for me what I've always thought - Rosen is living in a parallel universe. Of course, so is Biden. That's what makes Quin's article so delicious.

Biden's ramblings on Bork in his book are that of a lunatic. But not even he can bring himself to discuss the Thomas hearings with a straight face. What a disgrace Biden is; completely unfit for the Presidency on any grounds.

not quite true. by zendari

"In every presidential election from 1988 to 2004, the court had a six-justice majority in favor of upholding Roe v. Wade; now the landmark ruling on abortion appears to hang by one vote."

That turned out to be true, but nobody knew that it was the case. O'connor, Scalia, Kennedy, Rehnquist, and White were supposed to have dismantled Roe when the 1988 election came up.

C'mon, Folks, by Classic

let's be happy warriors.

I'm not trying to be a rosy optimist, but I'm wondering if no comments at this site for several days means some have given up the presidential fight.

Pardon the cliche, but if that's what's happening then the worst is sure to happen.

I think one can be a realist without being a pessimist.

Let's do what we can and leave the rest to God.
