Justice Sunday

Here's the Post write-up of "Justice Sunday." The rhetoric gets a little heated on both sides, but then this note:

Meanwhile Sunday, there were hints of a possible compromise. Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, told ABC News's "This Week": "I think we should compromise and say to them that we're willing to -- of the seven judges -- we'll let a number of them go through, the two most extreme not go through, and put off this [rule-change] vote."

He can keep calling them "extreme" if he wants to, but where's the justification? If the nominees are all well-qualified and have been voted to the floor, then all of them deserve a simple up-or-down vote. I'm not sure this is a "compromise" really worth considering. (See Andrew's discussion of the original counter-proposal here.)
