No way!!

The Associated PRess reports: "In private talks with Majority Leader Bill Frist, the Senate’s top Democrat has indicated a willingness to allow confirmation of at least two of President Bush’s seven controversial appeals court nominees, but only as part of a broader compromise requiring Republicans to abandon threats to ban judicial filibusters, officials said Monday. ...."
If Frist even comes close to agreeing to this, it will be the biggest sell-out since the Indians sold Manhattan Island. This would be disastrous. Only two of seven? Even four of seven would be a sell-out of epic proportions. Frist should offer truly extended debate on all nominees, but only in return for a guarantee that they will all be allowed an up-or-down vote. ANY acceptance of continued filibusters on judges would be a surrender, pure and simple.

About ConfirmThem

ConfirmThem.com is a collaborative blog hosted by RedState and dedicated to confirmation of judicial nominees who will uphold the original intended meaning of the Constitution, using judicial restraint. Until 2009, this blog provided news and analysis regarding judicial confirmation battles in the U.S. Senate, and gave every American the opportunity to be heard in Washington. Now this blog is in a holding pattern, awaiting judicial nominations we can support. For info about our bloggers, see here.
