Don't Sit Out the 2008 Election Campaigns

Senator McCain has some truly admirable statements at his web site about his judicial philosophy and about human dignity. So don’t even think about thinking about sitting out the election in November.
And if that's not motivation enough, check out this March 7 New York Times headline: "Senate Democrats Hope for a Majority Not Seen in 30 Years: 60 Seats". Newsmax had a similarly scary article on March 5.
There's not a single Republican in Alaska who's better than 84 year-old, ethically troubled, pork barrelin' Ted Stevens? Really? Guy's that powerful he can't be gently guided into retirement, & anyone who speaks up is permanently black-balled by the GOP up there?
Wow.
We don't need ideological purity as much as we need good candidates-ity. Have to get more Jindals, & less Stevens, Craig's, Foley's, Allen's, Burns, etc.
STEVENS, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which SCALIA, J., joined.
You are so totally correct. Conrad "Abramoff" Burns singlehandedly lost a virtually unlosable Senate seat: almost any other Repubican they put up would have beaten Tester. Stevens is a semi-dotage corrupt fool. Can Alaska Republicans really be so cowed and stupid, like Montana GOP was in '06? Thanks for Chairman Leahy, you Montana idiots.
On the other hand, Maccaca Allen was eminently electible. But then he made and personally produced the most potent opposition campaign ad in history--for free! He unelected himself. Good riddance.

But I thought principled conservatives told us losing in 2006 would do the party well. The odd desire for defeat that purity obsessed conservatives demonstrate is a horrible trait. Losing promotes losing. Vote, whiney babies. Whoops. I mean, vote conservative purists.
