Presidential News Conference

President Bush will hold a primetime news conference Thursday night at 8:30 EDT. According to this Fox News story, the main issues addressed will be high gas prices and social security reform, but I will be shocked if the issue of judicial filibusters is not also covered to some extent.
This is an excellent opportunity for the President to make a strong statement on the issue and to clear up many of the misrepresentations being made by Senate Democrats. I hope that, at the very least, the President will strongly defend his nominees and challenge the mischaracterizations of them as extremists.
