Sen. Kohl Threatens to be Nonsensical

Democratic Senator Herb Kohl of Wisconsin wrote this to business leaders, as quoted in the LA Times:
The business community ... faces a choice --- either speak out against the nuclear option or stand by while the majority undermines our desire to work together and develop common-sense solutions to America's problems.
Threatening to be nonsensical certainly is an interesting way to practice politics. Sen. Kohl previously talked about the so-called nuclear option with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
Kohl ... supported a strong Democratic response to the "nuclear option," but not a virtual shutdown of the Senate. "We've never said we're going to shut the place down, nor would I, Herb Kohl, be a part of that."
Instead of shutting the place down, Sen. Kohl apparently plans to cut back on common sense. He is running for reelection in 2006, maybe against former Governor Tommy Thompson.
