Tonight, the White House announced three new District Court nominees. Let's break it down by nominee!
Halil Suleyman Ozerden, of Mississippi, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Mississippi. Ozerden, 39, is in private practice with Dukes, Dukes, Keating & Faneca. He graduated from Stanford Law in 1998, clerked for U.S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon (Clinton appointee), and served as a commissioned officer in the Navy from 1989-1995. He will replace Judge David C. Bramlette, a G.H.W. Bush appointee.
Otis D. Wright, II, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California. Wright, 62, a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge since 2005, went to law school at Southwestern University and was formerly a partner at the firm of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker. He will replace Judge Gary L. Taylor, a G.H.W. Bush appointee, who retired in 2005.
George H. Wu, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California. Wu, 56, is currently a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge. He went to University of Chicago School of Law. He will replace Judge Ronald S.W. Lew, a Reagan appointee.
Good to see you back after the summer break. The WH was busy with nominations yesterday. It would seem that the Senate will return for a lame-duck session in November. I don't know how long or if they will return between Thanksgiving and Christmas. These nominations reveal that the WH is expecting some confirmations in the lame-duck session.
That should be the certain achievement of the lame duck sessions. Hopefully, some more Circuit judges too. I think Kent Jordan, Debra Livingston, and Peter Keisler have really good shots at being confirmed before 2007. I rank the chances of Kethledge, Murphy, and the Fab Five lower.
That's the link I used. Trying to save you guys the work.

Nice resume for one of the new district court nominees:
